I hope you are all having an amazing Memorial Day weekend.
For those of you caring for family members or clients who have fought for our country and preserved our freedoms please remember to thank them for their service. I feel very strongly about this issue regardless of religious or political ideology. Those who have fought for our country and our freedoms need to be recognized, thanked, and applauded for their sacrifice.
I’m forgoing a regular post today but did want to express my desire that you recognize our vets–those who died serving their country as well as those who made it home.
Many of our World War II vets are now in their 80’s and 90’s. In addition, many are in ill health or aging in ways that mean they require assistance or caregiving. Brighten their day a bit by listening to their stories, learning from their experiences, allowing them to share their wisdom, and by thanking them for their service.
May you have a blessed and enjoyable holiday weekend. May you share that joy with those you care for!
Wednesday I will post the last in our series of posts on “Caring for the Caregiver.” If you have a topic, question, or story to share please feel free to do so in the comments.
